You may have seen my posts in Chat regarding a future purchase of a rocket.

My one dislike of the Rocket's looks is the chrome. Does anyone have pics of bikes that have been dechromed?

I didnt want to remove it all, mainly the chunk on the fuel tank.
Does that bit come off or can t be painted?

Yes , it can be painted or powder coated, or replaced with a groovy carbon fiber one. (no plug intended)

Do you bead blast the chrome to remove it or use some other chemical process? Mitch gave me his lightly damaged bearclaw and I'm going to have it powder coated.

No way to remove the chrome!

Seriously you can just bead blast the chrome then it will take the powdercoat nicely, at least it worked for me. Hope this helps

I was wondering if you'd comment on this one Lonnie. Looks mighty fine.

Cool and very stealthy 8)

Thanks for the pics

I had my pillion brackets painted over with a primer thats designed to go straight on metal or plastic chrome, no need to blast, then 2 pack epoxy paint over it.(has to be 2 pack paint apparently).

Its good to leave the chrome underneath as its one more level of rust protection.

I was going to post a pic of mine, but Lonnie out blacks everyone here.

Nice to see it again mate. 8)
