Wondering how many of you have gone from a Standard/Classic/Roadster to the Touring. If so, why and your thoughts on the change. I recently went from an 08 Classic to a 14 Touring. I'm still adjusting to the change. With the weather, I have not logged many miles yet but hope to soon.

I took a long route to get to my present 2014 Touring...from a 2007 Classic then a 2010 1700 Thunderbird...then that "experiment" with that "other" bike and now on the Touring.

Don't really have too many thoughts yet on the Classic versus the Touring...I really liked the Classic and I'm still becoming one with my Touring.

I'll add my controversal 2 cents..;) If i lived in England or Australia i wouldn't hesitate for a minute to buy any of these bikes. i have to admit the tourng model is a great looking bike. Living here in the Northeast United States finding a Triumph dealer or someone who is qualified to work on Triumphs is as rare as hens teeth. What caught my eye in 2004 was the power and torque of this bike. This bike came out as the fastest production bike on the market and really didn't take off probably to the chagrin of Triumph. I give them cedit for reserecting the company but introducing the touring model was probably just a way of competing in the market. If you look at the trend most of the baby bommers are getting older and are seeking comfort along with power . I for one really don't ride my Busa much without popping two Advils. I know when i go touring on my Roadking if anything happens on the road there is a Harley dealer around every corner. In as much as most everyone has a negative comment about Harleys they do make a great touring bike.Who the he!! tours at 140 miles an hour. As a builder i'm not set up or experienced enough to rip down an engine or install a turbo charger, i do all the basics oil/ fluids, spark plug change etc. I dread the day when i need tires and major repairs and have to find someone who is qualified...
