Bungee Nuts

I find my R3 Classic a PIA when it comes to anchor points for bungees even with my Triumph rack and sissy bar.
Can the fender rail bolts and/or shock bolts be replaced with bungee bolts or do not such things exist? What do y'all do?

Drill and add hardware as needed...some marine hardware (cleats/eyes etc..)works well and avoids looking obnoxious...I don't recall seeing any alternative to factory bolting........good luck

I've been wanting to lose the Triumph rack and backrest myself; ever since I installed it. However, I have this rather large computer laptop bag that I have to go home with every night; so found it a necessity to have to continue using the rack/backrest setup.

Bungee nuts on the rear fender rails would be very nice, if we can find them.

I took some heavy Nylon webbing, like a 3/4 inch wide belt, and sewed it onto itself creating a figure 8 or double loop. Then when I am on the road, when I first bolt on the saddle bags, I slip one onto the frame/bolt for the bags. This leaves a loop that doesn't seem to scratch much, (on my bike it may be a little hard to tell!) and I can snap a carabiner onto the other loop to hold on my "Tee-Bag" onto the back rest/luggage rack. It could be used to hold a bungee, but you would need to work out the whole setup, or else the hook of the bungee could leave a little 'graffiti' on the painted fender.

I wont use bungee or octopus straps after being told about a fella who had his bag go under his rear guard after straps gave way at +180 kph resulting in a rear wheel lock up! :shock:
he came off and only got a severely smashed ankle! Lucky fella ,eh?

I prefer the rachet straps.Bags even better. 8)

My plan is to fit grab rails between the two bolts on the fender trim. This will give the pillion something to hold on to and supply a mounting point to fit my sliding backrest and rack. I want the backrest to be able to slide from the pillion to the riders seat. I will be fitting paniers as well and the whole thing will be modular and quick release. Well thats the plan.

Yes stainless, it would make a great chair when taken off I could just turn the backrest pad around and there it is.

Done quite a bit of touring, using bungee cords to hold a bag on the pillion rack. Tends to move & rub both the paintwork & the chrome So I need a decent answer to this one, that doesn't involve home welding!!
