I know I've been riding a long time and have owned several bikes with windshields, but have never had a lot of problems with buffeting till the Rocket.

Tonight I learned something, that I know one of the Captains has talked about before on lowers blocking the pressure coming in from below.

What I learned is when riding down the highway feeling like a bobbing dog in the back of a Chevette . . . if I pull my knees in close to the tank and cut off the air flow between me and the tank it stops and smooths out. I kept trying different speeds and doing different forward lean angles to disprove that this small amount of blockage could have this much affect, but alas . . . it works!

Maybe all I need are some lower shields and keep the stock touring shield.

Thoughts . . . I know . . . call me a dummy for not already knowing this, but I felt really good when I found this little tid bit out.

Anyone else know about this or am I the only one that has been riding spread eagle? :p

It's all about using the correct terms to describe the issue at hand...
I used the term, "helmet batter" to describe my problem with air turbulance, and Sully gave me a  cake recipe. Go figure!

the lowers will help , the air is coming up from underneath the screen,

since the screen creats a lift it actually sucks the air from underneath,

the lowers will help, I made some plexiglass lowers but tossed them when I switched to a flyscreen

:D I like cake..what kind did he give you? 8)
Some British concoction :? ...wasn't supposed to eat it, though, I was to shove it into my helmet for extra padding.

:D I did wonder when I was in England what you were supposed to do with some of that food...I'm not a fussy eater either... 8)
   I did finally try some pasty's...weren't too bad. Very similar to pot pie, but without the gravy.

:D I put on the lowers and no problem...I run the barndoor Clearview but before that had the Triumph Roadster screen..the lowers work well 8)

I may try a set of lowers before I buy another screen. Couldn't believe that tucking your knees into the tank would remove that much turbulance. Go figure. :?

My Windvest 16x18 solved my buffeting... I have a big ass and long torso, so the Triumph summer screen covered my to shoulders, but head was like a bobbing doll... Triumph roadster was too big & ugly for me... So Windvest did the trick...

Mike....

I guess mine is the stock Roadster screen. Came with the 07 Classic Touring models.

I may try the lowers first . . . just hate to fill the bike up with all these attachments . . . hard enough to get use to the bags. :?

Don't ruin the lines with more attachments...just quit airing out the twins so much when you ride
