Possibly a question more for UK members as I'm not sure if these lifts are available stateside, but does anyone know if the Abba Cruiser Skylift will work with a 2500 Rocket?

It's designed to lift off the lower frame tubes, which the 2500 doesn't have as the engine is a stressed member. They do make a bracket for bikes without frame tubes and I did ask Abba if this would work with the 2500 Rockets but they said they didn't know because they hadn't tried. They assumed it would.

Can you lift a bike of this weight directly off the sump? If not, what alternatives are available in the UK? I'd like to be able to lift the whole bike clean off the ground to allow both wheels to be removed together but also for cleaning and inspections.
All suggestions welcome.
 
I had a chat with Abba on their showstand at the NEC bike show last year and they didn't seem interested in offering me anything that would lift my Rocket 3.
I was less than impressed with their response to my questions, as you can imagine.
It's probably that the Rocket is a low volume bike(?)
 
Can't see how to source a Big Blue in the UK except on ebay. Don't do ebay. However, it does appear to answer the question about lifting off the sump.
 
No, I took their email reply as pretty much a shrug of the shoulders.
It would be handy if it was suitable. You don't need any power or a drill to use it. My bikes are stored in a secure unit that's big enough to have a small workshop area. Currently though it has no power supply unless I buy a generator or an off-grid solar system.

Again, no power or drill required. Looks like you could remove the frame tube cradles and lift off the pad but can't see it would lift very high using a bottle jack and there would be more infrastructure in the way of working on the bike than with the Abba or the Big Blue.

Good info on their site. Maybe that is the best option. Looks like I'd need their Rocket adapter bracket and their wheel chock as well. I do have a chock but I don't think it's wide enough for the Rockets 150 front tyre. The Harley's was a squeeze and the Rocket's is fatter than that.
