Just took my bike in to the dealer for a dash update and have had the same rattle noise for some time. The tech said the springs were worn so bad or completely gone.
He described the springs as a wavy washer that holds the disc tight and said they were about a $1.50 apiece. The disc has alot of play forward and back and sounds like I'm dragging tin cans behind the bike. They will replace these when I take the bike back in for the rear brake recall.
A very common problem. Mine started at 30,000 km. I filed the chamfer on the bolts down to 0.75 mm. This caused the bolts to rotate 270°, meaning the unworn side faces the disc. If I can drive them another 30,000 km, I'll happily replace them with a new set of bolts.
Sorry I did not update my trip to the dealer. They replaced the springs (washers) and no more noise or play in the disc. They did say that it was ok for the disc to move that freely but I disagree. Anyway I am happy with the results
