Seems I’ve been neglecting the thread a bit. Got busy with work and messing around with the new toy. Thanks to everyone for all of the welcomes. I look forward to contributing and learning. Just did my first retune of the ECU using TuneEcu and the goto remap for the touring models. Now it...

Where at in SE Michigan? I test drive a roadster at the dealership in Shelby township. It’s what sealed the deal on getting one.

I had 2006 first gen VMAX as well. It was my first brand new motorcycle. **** thing handled like a freight train and had a 25 mile saddle. But it was a hell of a first muscle bike. I still prefer the looks over the current model. Ironically, the VMAX was what got me interested in the rocket...

Color tour in the UP should be pretty awesome. One thing nice about the fall is the bugs are gone and you can actually get out of the car. As far as the Yugo goes well, it’s a 200 ft drop, so... at least they made wind advisories a thing and raised the guard rail a bit. Yeah, I think it was in...

Oi! What part of Oz, or should I say Aus, do you hail from? Got a buddy living state side that’s from the Perth side of things. He’s been in the states for about 12 years now. Has one of the best fake American accents I’ve heard. I thought he was Canadian when I first met him.

I've been to Montreal a few times. once to Laval, and the other times to the city center. I've always heard bad things about Montreal from other Americans, but aside from the French only signage, i found the culture to be quite agreeable, although service was a little slow at restaurants. I...

Thanks for the insight. I figured it was a combination of in-house production/machining and vendors. Not every day you meet some one in the business. Aircraft parts in the civilian world is a hot topic due to lack of availability, mark ups, and FAA certification. Yep, off topic. But like my...

You guys have any dealings with Lear Jets? I know the Air Force still flies the C21 around. I'm currently stuffing myself into a LR-31. My co-worker and I were curious as to how the military can keep these things flying. its getting hard to find parts even for the 31 let alone a 35...

Those DC3's were something to watch during their test flights. I used to haul freight in a clapped out C402 on a UPS route. It was making a mess of the ramp parked next to the old Basler FBO. When and which service were you in? I was enlisted USMC from 2002-2006 as Crash Fire Rescue.

Nice! I love Wisconsin. Lived in Oshkosh and Appleton for a while, spent a lot of nights bumming around Milwaukee as well. If it weren't for your brutal winters i'd actually consider moving there.

Thanks. More midwesterners on here than I would've thought. I used to drive through the Chicago area quite a bit when I was commuting to Appleton, WI. Occasionally I'd have to swing wide and head up the western side of the city. Definitely the nicer side of the Chicago.

I've heard the upgraded touring seats with the backrests are hard to come by... a back rest is definitely happening though. I love the look of the Mustang seats especially next to the Russells, but I had a Corbin on a previous bike that I was none to impressed by. Might have to look more into...

on my ride yesterday we had just eaten at a restaurant in Frankfurt and were mounting up when a guy rolled next to us riding a tiger 800. He had no idea what he was looking at. I mentioned it was a fellow triumph and he was surprised. He then asked if it was a 6 cylinder... when we were...

    Hola! From Northern Michigan

I live in Traverse City, Michigan. It just seems that the marketing for these bikes took better hold in Australia than it did in the U.S. I've only seen one other R3 around here in the ten years i've lived up here. and we used to have a local triumph dealer.

ha, yeah i've known a few decent ppl from muskegon ;). Yep, the old psychiatric hospital has turned into something, that's for sure. it is now known as "The Commons". A two bedroom condo is $200,000+ ridiculous HOA fees. got a cheap restaurant there at $40 a plate. All sarcasm aside, it is...

Thanks Sparky. So long as you avoid Cherry Fest T.C. is a great place to ride. Ludington may even be a better place - all the tourists haven't found it yet and its far enough away from Muskegon.

Hey All, Recently purchased a 2014 Rocket III Touring with 5600 miles on it. Found a great deal out in New Hampshire. Borrowed a trailer and headed out. 32 hours later I was busy reorganizing the garage trying to figure out where to put this 860 lbs chunk of ridiculousness. So I've owned a...
