Missing Captains - Where Are They Now?

Well it's great to see so many of you still alive. I've just realised I've been drifting around various R111 fora for about 17 years. I have rarely had chance to ride much in the last few years, let alone post. Must do more of both! All the best boys, and take care.

    Warp

I don't get in here as often as I would like, and so have only just seen this! Get well soon brother. Just to let all know that this tough f***er can tolerate phsychological torture too. He once spent about 3 hours on the phone to me while I got my laptop to talk to my bike!

    TTS Supercharger

Hi Richard, long time no see. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, and your recent troubles. More power to your elbow on improving the 2.5, but I just though I'd let you know that your original (and best;)) is still putting a smile on my face and flew through it's MoT once again yesterday. I'm off...

Question for the BST/any Carbon Fiber wheel owners.

Thanks Boog. Point taken, hence the heads up. Fortunately, on the few occasions it's happened the rear has gripped when it re-established contact with the tarmac, so far....

Question for the BST/any Carbon Fiber wheel owners.

Did someone mention pink? CF front std rear. Difficult to tell if it improves acceleration, but the lighter weight and sharper profile of the tyre makes it turn in a lot easier. Beware that the lug on the bottom of the frame, where the mainstand would be if it had one, is the next thing to...

    BRAKE FLUID CHANGE >>>IMPORTANT

Thanks Miksan, great tip. Only thing I would add is, for those who ride hard, use DOT5. I boiled my DOT4 on a track day (interesting experience), but then that may have been partially down to not changing fluid as regularly as I should. Not a mistake I am likely to repeat.

    CDJ Flyscreen

Thanks Ishrub. I use Adbloker, it's free, and can be turned off on selected sites (like this one). I'm still not paying Photobucket for something I can get free elsewhere. This is the best pic I have on my laptop, but will post a better one from my office system next time I'm there. I like the...

    CDJ Flyscreen

With the appropriate brackets the wind protection is pretty good, as I found out when I took it off to send the brackets to Arto to enable him to make some to fit his. It removes wind blast from your chest and shoulders, and puts most of it over your head (although I have narrower bars which...

Yay, New mpg record (How low can you go)

I think 13 is my record, but that was on a track day. Low 20s is my lowest on the road, dunno what that equates to in the US.
