Gauges dead while riding, now won't start

Scrap that, I was measuring on the crapped up end, it has 12v and the clocks now on and starting .... whoop! Now I’ve got a shed load of wiring to re-wrap. Thanks for your help guys.

Gauges dead while riding, now won't start

I’m only measuring 3v out of the wire that comes from the fuse box. That’s probably not correct?

Gauges dead while riding, now won't start

So this appeared when I’ve stripped the loom back, just going to repair now and see where we get to!

Gauges dead while riding, now won't start

Thanks both, that’s very very helpful! I’ve been pulling my remaining hair out trying to figure out the wiring!! The purple wire that has a disintegrated crimp was under the tank in loom coming from the gauges where the purple wire from each gauge joins to one purple wire at a loom junction...

Gauges dead while riding, now won't start

Okay it’s been awhile, I now have the bike in a friends workshop so I am able to open it up properly. It’s totally dead at the moment and won’t start, it doesn’t turn the game is on or prime the fuel pump anymore. Couple of the code reader in and have the fault P 1690. I searched through Google...

Gauges dead while riding, now won't start

Went to the bike this morning and it fired up straight away, took the speedo apart anyway to look and it’s all in perfect condition inside there (tried to post a photo but it won’t let me from my phone) ....is it worth taking the Rev gauge apart too? Any other ideas? Intermittent faults are the...

Gauges dead while riding, now won't start

Thanks @ozrider for the pics, I’ll attempt opening up that today for a visual. Hopefully it is that and fixable! That would explain the weird intermittent style of the fault, is the CANBUS chip just in the speedo panel only? And would that also affect the other gauge? Or is there on in both...

Gauges dead while riding, now won't start

While riding along the other day the gauges went off (needles froze in position and LCD went off) but it didn't affect the ride at all, 10 mins later they sprung back to life. Fast forward to today and the same thing happened except this time I had to stop before they came back on, now the bike...

    Neutral light always on

And today I had a 200 mile run where the gears consistently displayed with no neutral light...I hate intermittent faults

    Neutral light always on

I traced the sensor back to the plug, no broken wires. I then took the seat off, ignition on and put it into first gear. Initially the N light was on, some messing with wiring from the battery seemed to make the N light go out but I can't find a definite and now I can't get the N light out...

    Neutral light always on

Ok so turning this has no effect on the tacho display, I was riding earlier and it went back to showing gear and then neutral again sometimes when going over bumps, going to trace those wires and see if I can find a dodgy connection. I’m guessing if it all looks good then it’s probably the...

    Neutral light always on

Thanks, I've had a look at the advice thread on how to take that out and clean it so I reckon I'll give that a go. I'm very paranoid about snapping bolts! The speed sensor (on the wheel) malfunctioned and one of those small bolt heads snapped off a while back removing it so I imagine this...
