  1. Rocket 3 Roadster ride report

MPG Cheeky and Chris On a run NOT commuting through London, using the torque, not revving the balls off it, what MPG is possible? I'd imagine over 40 to an imperial gallon. Almost certain I'll get one when I move to Lagos, Portugal in September. Will use for fun rides out
  2. Fuel Mileage

Tourer The Tourer has a narrower back tire, doesnt it? WOULD THAT CONTRIBUTE TO SLIGHTLY BETTER MPG?
  3. Fuel Mileage

fUEL All this has convinced me that the TR3 will be fine for me down on the Iberian Peninsular where there's more space to play and less urban work to do. London is a ****ehole to ride in, isn't it Cheeky?

Rear tyre Thanks. The prospect of riding it like I've stolen it terrifies me. I thought the Buell had some clout but the TR2 defies belief. with peak torque at 2750rpm I would reckongoing between 1000 and 3000rpm would more than suffice. Of course the odd little soiree to 6000 would be...

Roadster? The Roadster I mentioned must have been whatever the beasts were called when they 1st came out. Going to have another test ride at another garage a little further out in country. Want to be sure it handles...

  9. From Tiger to Roadster?

To Chris Hi, mate. I am a buell Ulysses owner who is sekking up and leaving London for the Algarve where I'll buy a Rocket Roadster in matt black. In terms of luggaga this will be my set up. Baglux harness and tang bag, sissy bar over which I'll put my 1996 Ventura Bike Pack (62 litres) and a...

To Hellfire Hi there. What mileage do you get out of the back tyre, OK tire. Have heard wildly differing reports. One bloke told me 10,000. Others say 5,000. Suppose if you tear the arse out of it you'll get not much but by riding on the torque is 8-10,000 feasible? Nick

Touring on a Roadster Why not tour on a Roadster? Don't like the single light or where the speedo is on the Touring. Hell I remember my 1st trip from England to Portugal on a Yamaha XT500 back in 1983. With a screen and sissy & rack it'll be fine. Got to admit I'd love to do the States on one...
  13. London to Brighton?

Colour etc Didn't add that I am getting the matt black one. Take it there's a sissy bar with rack available as the sissy bar would take my Ventura Bike Pack I have had since 96. Also plan on putting a Baglux harness on the tank so I can use my tank bag. With an Ortleib waterproof bag on the...

Reply to Rainman My fault there. His was the original model. Didn't realise they weren't called Roadsters back then. I will be buying new and feel that the standard of Triumph dealers in Portugal will be fine. I take it the new models are more reliable than the originals then. What issues did...
