Warning over battery blazes: Lithium powerpack fires hit a new high

I build and run RC Boats on the lake outside our house. They are all electric and I've had a few fires but never the batteries. A couple of them pull nearly 200amp on full load. Speed controllers, cables, plugs sometimes go up never the batteries. When not in use all the batteries are charged...

The above would probably keep the PC3 from juicing up too.

Want to Buy Stock Handlebar Risers for Rocket Roadster

Don't do it. Not that comfortable I found. Was the first accessory I ever purchased. Still on now. I am 6'4" and have long arms, was never comfortable.

    Tune ecu for dummies

The worst bit are the windows drivers. When you plug in the OBD cable, windows automatically installs the driver IT "thinks" you want, not the one you need. Need to install the correct drivers and assign them from memory. Can be painfully. Once that's sorted sometimes connection can be a little...

    Rocket 3 replacement handlebars

I'm 6'4 but run apes and just hang on for day rides. Anything longer I fit a ranch slider (screen) to deflect the wind. With the lower bars you need to be careful before you buy anything. Lower bars may hit the tank. On another R3 I purchased some drag bars, they were completely unusable, still...

New Starter rebuild and new battery.... ISSUE with starting... baffles me... will not start on 1st crank attempt

The ECU also has a minimum operating voltage too meaning bump starting is a problem with a flat battery. Old bikes were so much easier

    Luggage Options?!

Well the wood sits above the mudguard. The two pieces of angle simply wedge between the saddlebags and the frame the saddlebags bolt to. The saddlebags are not currently fitted and had no time to put them on for a photo the image was just to show where it sits roughly. Here's an image with the...

    Luggage Options?!

Sorry just remembered this. You're probably sorted by now but... Saddlebags aren't on at mo but you get the idea. Rough but completely hidden by the roll bag on top. I tie it down with straps around the saddlebags mount points.

New Starter rebuild and new battery.... ISSUE with starting... baffles me... will not start on 1st crank attempt

Ah sorry was misunderstanding. The clunk sounds ominous. I have a wiring diagram but not on me so would need to look at it ro determine what runs/controls what. Keep us posted on your findings as it's curious.

    Clutch Lifter Shaft

My 05 has a Barnett clutch as slip started to occur. Before I pulled it apart I ordered later model parts and fitted them as @R-III-R Turbo says the original parts were quickly superceded the new ones are much better. Also if you're going to the trouble replace the radiator hoses with Samco or...

New Starter rebuild and new battery.... ISSUE with starting... baffles me... will not start on 1st crank attempt

I don't think it's the ECU here. This may be a PIA to try but maybe take the starter motor out of the equation. Disconnect it from bike system (electrically) and direct connect it to another battery sitting next to the bike that is fully charged (obviously) with different cables, don't use...

New Starter rebuild and new battery.... ISSUE with starting... baffles me... will not start on 1st crank attempt

I don't know if it's on the same circuit but wonder if the starter motor current draw pulls down the voltage to the point where there's no spark or ecu trigger. Not sure why the second crank would change anything. Id look at the relays.

    Temporary pipe replacement and tune

The 12 minute tune only works at very low rpm (low gas flows). R3 sensor is a narrow band not wide band. WBO2 works across entire rev range. All this is really/effectively useful for is a stable idle. However tors to std muffler? You'll probably just run a little rich is all. Not an issue and...

HI All, just getting back after time off here, i've a 2006 R3 classic since 09, had troublle with bad mechanic, trying to back to my econ back.

Sorry forgot last night and just remembered. The 20050 maps were superseded by 20228 maps but this is the map I had. I didn't develop this map just uploaded it with my D&D system at the time so credit for the map goes to someone else, worked good though. May need to adjust if you still have...

    Side Stand Eliminator Switch

Riding off down the road with the sidestand down can have side effects too. I'd keep the switch, it's a small inconvenience for a big safety gain. But to answer your question it is just a digital switch so won't matter. Just need to know if it's normally open or normally closed loop and...
