    I got an OBDLink LX and downloaded TuneECU so I could check on that fault. Guess I need to learn more about how to use it to clear those codes.

    Oh, she cranks up beautifully now, but the check engine light stays on. She seems to run just fine, too.

    Vroom vroom! Although, now the check engine light is on.... Might it be that I thought I'd be clever and upgrade to a lithium battery? Just saw a few threads that say they're not entirely compatible with the charging system.

    So I found a guy that coats tanks for 300 clams. Not a bad deal IMO! He also paints 'em. Soon as I get the starter issue sussed out I'll send picks.

    Had the battery checked a few months ago when I had trouble starting in the cold and Autozone said it was good. I've had the bike for nearly 3 years with the same battery.

    The filter looks pretty clean. Seems to be flaking off from the inside of the tank. Gonna try the ol' vinegar soak & baking soda rinse. Unless you cats have an alternative.
