Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

Thought the same, but it also serves as wire/cable/connector protection and mounting.

Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

I managed to get away with a slightly smaller spacer on the top of the swingarm and an angled spacer on the inside.

Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

Finally got out for a ride this weekend with the new tire and finally got the suspension dialed in. Feels like a new bike. The turn in IS better. Very happy so far.

Designing a new rear fender - winter project

Let me know if you design a mudguard that can accommodate a taller rear tire without using spacers lol

    Rear Wheel Roller Bearing Lube

Just did this myself. Super quick job but yeah you need some kind of brush to get the grease into the rollers. Or very tiny fingers.

    Balancing the Throttle Bodies

should be noted that checking is as easy as plugging in obd2 reader and connecting tune ecu. It’s only if you find those numbers need adjusting that you need to do anything else. Just checked mine and they were all within spec.

    Balancing the Throttle Bodies

probably because they're both within tolerance. there's nothing guaranteeing the throttle bodies become unbalanced. I'm sure with substantial time and wear they will eventually, or if some component goes bad.

Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

Yup. Exactly what I did as well. But want to experiment with using some angled spacers.

Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

thin strip of metal with 2 holes to create an offset for the mount. i may head try to just make some angled spacers from nylon to see if that could work too. there's 3 bolts for the mudguard. the one furthest down the swing arm doesn't need a spacer and would act as the pivot. adding an angled...

Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

here is the exedra mounted. Fills that space even better than the chrome. You do have to adjust the angle of the inner most mudguard but pretty simple with some spacers and a makeshift bracket. If I fall in love with the new tire, I may try to figure out a slightly more sophisticated mod to...

Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

Holy moly that’s a lot of tires. I got about 8k miles out of my chromes. Was pretty happy with that. I didn’t mind them as a tire, although I think they were pretty **** in the wet. Excited to try out this exedra. Now it just needs to warm up here to start riding season.

Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

I hear rumblings of a metz cruisertec coming. But I would sell a kidney for a Michelin road 6 setup on the rocket lol

So I went to Harley dealership

I can’t seem to dial mine in just right. I have the front rebound set more accurately now but still playing with compression settings. Rear end seems fine. What do your settings look like?

So I went to Harley dealership

I would disagree, I think the rocket 3R and GT could benefit from a steering stabilizer. In fact, it’s my only gripe with the bike. This thing does not like bumps when it’s leaned over. A damper would help.

Mounting an Exedra Max rear tire on the new 3R = Better Handling

@Journeyman28778 just mounted an exedra max to the rear. Planning on throwing another cobra chrome on the front. Is that the setup you’re running? It’s been absolute insanity trying to source a rear cobra chrome. No one has had them in stock for months. Everywhere says sold out for the season...

    Balancing the Throttle Bodies

I am not a tech and wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending anything as the coolant conversation has plenty of people divided lol HOAT coolant is the way to go according to manual. I personally used Zerex GO5

    Balancing the Throttle Bodies

Yup, just the one the one tucked in there. i have it raised, albeit currently higher on the right than the left, but looking at it with the new tire mounted, not sure i needs to be as high as i have it.
