For Sale Anybody want a dang near virgin 2005 Rocket 3 motor

Sure, if you don't mind the legwork... I'd be willing to spend a few hundred bucks to ship it if that works. Zip code here is 85635, and I can provide a commercial addy with forklift support if it makes it cheaper than residential/tailgate service.

For Sale Anybody want a dang near virgin 2005 Rocket 3 motor

Haha, if only I could put a trailer on my Indian, or my M3. :( I need a truck in my life, though right now it's more about getting the time off to make a trip like that. I'll keep asking around until I find someone willing, or you sell the thing.

I'm pretty interested in that... what do you think it would take to get it to southern AZ?

    Turbo Kits currently available?

A couple of us have done a lot of development in turbocharging these monsters... if you(or anyone for that matter) has any questions, by all means shoot me a PM or start a thread with a tag. I'm a big fan of sharing information. :) ...at this point I kinda wish someone local to me would want to...

    Ceramic Bearings

They help, but in very small increments. Removing the wheel seals is part of this process to reduce drag, so you need to clean/inspect more frequently. Brake pad spreaders are a big deal too... much more rolling resistance in brake pads than wheel bearings, ftr.

    ECTA Arkansas mile spring 24

This is the best advice, haha. If you are going to lower the bike, just try to keep it even/flat.... if you lower the front, lower the back the same (or vice versa). Next best advice I can give ya is to take your time... you'll get more than one run. Set control goals, hit them in steps (if the...

Triumph Rocket 3 back to Bonneville in 2024, I bet you didn’t see that coming

Fun fact: they haven't closed the loop-hole (yet), but aerodynamic devices for the SCTA are defined as "anything forward of the rider..."; you could build quite the tail section/bellypan and still be within the rules. Food for thought.

Some motorcycle video snippets from a dozen years at the Bonneville Salt Flats

....motorcycle racers are just built different. For better or worse.

Some motorcycle video snippets from a dozen years at the Bonneville Salt Flats

It's very difficult to express how challenging it is out there, especially on light high horsepower machines. The combination of experience, machine reliability/repeatability, course conditions, and sometimes just dumb luck creates such a unique experience. There have been maybe one or two...

Some motorcycle video snippets from a dozen years at the Bonneville Salt Flats

Going from a light/short bike to a long/heavy machine has definitely messed with me. I'm getting used to them more now, and it seems like they will be quite a bit faster, but the learning curve is scary and steep.... at least for someone like me with no dirt or big bike experience. Here's a fun...

LSR Turbo Rocket III, part two

183.48 on dirt, 3.something psi of boost.... getting faster. :)

LSR Turbo Rocket III, part two

...was trying to review some of my tune information after my El Mirage event... I've been having a small problem getting the bike to make the rated spring pressure boost levels (it's always 2-4 psi lower than it should be). When I thew in the "7psi" spring the reference line accidentally got...

    183.48mph, and it's getting faster...

Pretty sure that's the fastest one with a timeslip anywhere. ;) Only pics I have right now, taken as it was being built.... the little holes are where the -10AN male fittings went.

    183.48mph, and it's getting faster...

I'm thinking about it... need to put brakes on it first! :) I worry about getting it stopped with anything less than a mile of shutdown.

    183.48mph, and it's getting faster...

The way this thing accelerates in 5th gear from 100-150, especially on dirt, is mind numbing.

    183.48mph, and it's getting faster...

Ding ding ding. It is the ice box for the intercooler. It was over the tail before, but that may have been causing a weight distribution issue... we moved it up front. The shape is intentionally awful... anything in front of the rider can be construed as "streamlining" if it even remotely looks...

    183.48mph, and it's getting faster...

El Mirage SCTA event on Nov 12th, 2023: 183.48mph. About 3lbs of boost, fuel mixture waaaaaay too fat, and not quite full throttle only at the last few seconds of the run. She's only getting faster from here. :)

    2.5s closed deck (impressive triumph)

Indeed, serviceable cylinders are nice touch... if you can keep a few extra. In this case, I'll casually disagree with the 2.5 being any stronger until proven otherwise. While a closed deck would ultimately have a higher threshold for cylinder walk/shift/distortion if all other things were held...
