Where is our Barbie and what is she worth now?

I did have the first one and sold it in 2004 on ebay for $235. Gotta love it.

    I'm Taking a Knee

We new guys need you long timers for help when we do something stupid to our bikes and need it running again. A little part of the forum dies when a long time member leaves. I hope you reconsider.

    My 2006 R3 Classic dyno

Does have a powerful sound, deafening inside the booth.

Here's a video of him tuning.

    My 2006 R3 Classic dyno

I've ran out a couple tanks of gas and I'm averaging 40 MPG, that's where I was before the tune. The bike is very smooth, the throttle was "twitchy" at low speed moderate RPM and a bit sluggish accelerating at higher RPM and now that's gone. One thing it didn't do before, at 80-100% throttle...

I hope this is a typo!!!

I wonder what kind of oil it has in it. ;)

    Highway Pegs

These are what I bought, I'm very happy with them https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07Q8KRWFH/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_inactive_ship_o0_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    My 2006 R3 Classic dyno

I was there from 11:30 until 2:00, out of that time he was actually tuning 1.5 hours of that. So you think $450 for 1.5 hours work is fair? I'm wondering if the fat spot was to take a dip out.

    My 2006 R3 Classic dyno

His actual time on the dyno with the bike running was around 1.5 hours. He said he's been doing this for so long he can complete a custom tune quickly. I know part of the $450 spent for the tune was paying for the dyno, the building and so on but it's hard to feel I've gotten my monies worth...

I do also, on these big bikes lots of torque is needed.

He was happy with the timing, we didn't change it.

    My 2006 R3 Classic dyno

Max power is at 5500 rpm so extending the revs wouldn't add anything. On the clutch at 5000, shift by 5500. Max torque at 2900 rpm is where the fun is at.

Have to love the straight up, straight over table top torque curve.

    Dyno tuning

Going home is OK getting to the 87 and one lane was a challenge then the accident and stopped traffic was more of a challenge. The overheat light even came on. I lived in the valley for 23 years and have been in Payson only a year. When you no longer live in the valley it's really not much fun...

    My 2006 R3 Classic dyno

That's exactly it!! This is the 3rd bike I've had tuned, power run numbers like above are really for bragging rights.

    My 2006 R3 Classic dyno

Here it is 140hp 154tq runs much smoother and the power is now everywhere. He said it low rpm was lean and high rpm was rich. Overall it's a much more responsive, better running bike. Canned maps are fine but a modified bike really does need to have a custom tune. I started this thread because...

    Dyno tuning

Maybe, the original owner of the bike saved me the expense. I added the ram air and modified the mufflers.
