    Trailer hitches...

I don’t own this tow bar anymore, I sold it with my previous Rocket. But if want to copy it, there’s no patent on it. Just find a metal fabricator who can radius steel tube and machine a boss to mount on the outside of the top suspension mounts. There’s a flat bar joining both sides for the...

I last drove a Stollie in 1979, brilliant bit of kit. I’ve a mate who’s restoring one at the moment, to Swimming condition.

Why are people selling their Rockets?

Near the Muckadilla Pub? I remember stopping there over night for dinner a couple of times going out a couple of Cattle Stations out that way. Keep safe Digger.

Why are people selling their Rockets?

This is how me and the wife toured and carried a load of gear. I lived for 8 years in Brisbane out at Strathpine, where’s that park your in? I drove for Simon’s at Archerfield.

Why are people selling their Rockets?

As I’ve said on another thread, I feel Triumph are loosing out, by not building a super tourer around the G2 Rocket. I would have had one, but the boss wouldn’t get on the back. I’m hoping this Rocket will last my last bike before giving up. 68 now, nearly stuffed knees, so hoping I’ll still...

Why are people selling their Rockets?

I can’t comment on the prices of Rockets world wide, but here in the U.K. I have noticed the prices of Gen2 Rockets, do tend to take a dramatic hit once out of the show room. But also early ones have sort of levelled out to around £5000 give or take. But get an immaculate low mileage pre 2010...

Why are people selling their Rockets?

Tell you what mate, it’d be one boring fcuking world if we all liked the same thing! I know what it is about that Indian I don’t like, it’s that front mudguard! It’s bloody huge! But each to there own.

Why are people selling their Rockets?

Agree with something along those lines, but sorry that Indian looks like someone hit it with the ugly stick! I’m sure Triumph could come up with something more stylish. To be honest, I’m not a great fan of what you over the pond call Baggers, everyone I’ve ridden just feels too top heavy. With...

Why are people selling their Rockets?

With ref to what you were saying about the old model, I personally and a few others agree with me, I really feel Triumph are missing out on a trick. Yes the R3 GT & R are fabulous machines, but they’re not two up tourers. A few years ago I had the intention of getting a 2 generation, but the...

    I let my Rocket go

I certainly understand what you’re saying, putting my A65 along side my R111 and it looks tiny. Manoeuvring it around and it feels like a toy! But try physically picking it up!!! 😳 What a lump! The rear suspension on both the Rocket and the Beeza were just about stuffed, so YSS on the Rocket...

    I let my Rocket go

And there is the reason why I’ll not buy a new bike anymore! There is so much stuff included in the electronics, it’s a nightmare. I blame the Japanese big four over the state of things, each company trying to out tech the other’s bikes. Honda being the main protagonist, with innovation after...

Why are people selling their Rockets?

I had 2004 R111 in 08 and owned it for 10 years, even had the motor upgraded to black engine spec. In 2018 I decided it was getting a bit weighty for my knackered knees and went for a 1700 Thunderbird Storm. Fabulous machine, really chuckable, comfy, quite quick. But…. There was something...

Need information, A measuring tape, some time, and the 2004-2009 Rocket III. (Added photos of cats!)

As promised, just measured mine. From the front Crash bar mount to centre of the front spindle 21&5/8 inches or as Triumph is metric nowadays 548mm. Hope that’s of some help. Now playing around with the black art!

I’ll measure mine in the morning for you, mines a 2010 Classic. It’s bloody 11 at night here right now! I refuse to go out fighting the slugs on the foot path! 😂

Like I said a “Black Art”! You are right YSS only have Preload, Rebound and ride height adjustment. But getting all three to work in unison is the magic trick. The WP shock I had on my 1200 Daytona also had Compression adjustment as well, even more confusing!🫤 I’ll start by adjusting the ride...

Need information, A measuring tape, some time, and the 2004-2009 Rocket III. (Added photos of cats!)

I’ve just recently fitted YSS to my R111, so still experimenting. At the moment, from standard setting. No ride height, three full turns off on spring compression, 3 clicks on dampening. So at the moment, the steering is slow and I physically have to counter steer to get her to drop in to a...

What’s the last thing you bought for your rocket…

I didn’t do a before as it never occurred to do one! But it was shot, riding at night in the wet was like being in a bloody disco!
