Alright, caps off and the plugs are now gapped at .7 - Feels smoother… oh yeah. Still don’t know what to do about that bracket, tho

Coil Over Plug mod (COP) for standard coil removal

I know it’s been a hot minute since this post, but I recently did this conversion on my ‘06. Thanks for this conversation as it proved extremely helpful. I have some questions for you, if you have the time. 1. Spark plug gap - what did you do? R1 should be .7 but the Rocket s/b .9 You’re using...

Want to Buy WTB - Bracket(s) for lifting ‘06 Classic

Seen the posts for homemade angle iron brackets and want a set (or maybe JBQ, if they’re out there). 13mm lifting hole. Anybody got spares? Shipping from outside US would make this an expensive proposition, so if you’re in Oz… love you guys, but prolly not worth your bother.

    Am I a Poser??

I do wear a helmet... although I'm sure most would agree there's not much to protect there. Still don't see how my argument is illogical... if you wanted to be truly safe, and protect that noodle of yours, you wouldn't ride. An earlier post mentioned bubble-wrap, and that's exactly how we all...

Where to put insurance and registration?

Under the Seat? I put mine under the seat... I don't know if everyone has the space I have under there (air box removed for triple K&Ns), but I put a rag, registration, and small tool kit in the space I had. Even if your air box is still there, you should be able to get those cards in the tool...

    Am I a Poser??

Gear PT - I know this will sound snarky, but it's not meant to. Wouldn't you just skip motorcycling entirely if you take your life so seriously? C'mon, we all know that we've increased risk by getting on two wheels and facing the idiots in traffic. If safety was my main concern, a very...

    Am I a Poser??

Boots it is! Message received - loud and clear. Boots it is, just gotta figure out which ones. Hopefully they make me look more like the pirate I always wanted to be (jk). Thanks for all the replies!

    Am I a Poser??

Good on gloves I always wear gloves, although lately (for hot weather) they've been the 1/2 finger kind. I'm sure I'm taking unnecessary risks, but heckfire... I could just wear a Kendo suit or drive a tank instead.

    Am I a Poser??

Boots is boots? Thanks Bob. Tripps - your story certainly gives me pause. I do have a pair of motorcycle "boots" that I bought early on... they come no higher up my ankle than my hi-tops (but they do have the cool reinforcement for the shifter)... I'm assuming those aren't the best thing...

More Boots Thanks for the feedback, but please -someone- give me the whys and wherefores of boots... I understand you think I should, I just need to understand WHY I should.
