    K&N 4040

G'day just to tip them up and forwards, aesthetics only, the filters do go straight onto the fuel injection bodies but liked this look better, sorta copied this Red one. Even still they get in the way of my knee I'm a long skinny streak of weasels... Was going to recolor the blue to black but...

    K&N 4040

Are you taking the secondary throttle discs off at the same time?, you should. But don't drop the little screws down the holes. You need to slightly turn one filter, think its the back one but they fit under well.

    K&N 4040

Gday I recently got mine from Summit Racing.com in the USA (you don't want to try and buy them NZ, they take a testicle with them). They don't fit under the bearclaw but look good. So worth it...

    Dealing with engine heat...

I pray for warmth like that over here, earlier in the winter we road through fog, then the temperature dropped and formed ice on our trousers, among other things:whitstling:. Sometimes use the engine to warm gloves and dry things at a stop. Savor the warmth guys.

WOTL: Have you the measurements to replace the brake lines ?

I recently changed out my stock hoses for Hel lines, I ran two lines one for each caliper. Mainly because I raised the bars. I was very happy to get rid of the tee piece under the lower triple tree. Pretty sure that's why I always had trouble bleeding it. No issues now. I took measurements...

    360 RIM & TIRE

That's the thing with electric motors, maximum torque nearly instantly and continuously. Look at those electric bikes running at Pikes Peak, no loss of performance as altitude increases. I'm looking forward to the electric motorcycles (not the HD one there making) but the sports bikes, they'll...

Hi and welcome from New Zealand. There are places around that will reupholster your seat, its usually expensive but worth it, I got my front and rear seat re-padded and recovered, they also raised the seat height by an inch or so to suit my lanky frame. Too far to send it to NZ but you get the...

    crash bars work

Glad you and the missus are OK. I'm with Dave and Dallan on picking the bike up but I turn my back to the bike when I do it with the bars turned. Crash bars are great (the shops and dealers call them dresser bars but we know what they're for;)). When I came off a while ago, lost it at about...

    360 RIM & TIRE

Hi Roy Sorry wasn't suggesting going for a car tyre here, their definitely not for everyone and don't want to start a DS conversation here. (I have 15km, or 20km of windy roads to get to the highway from home BigKel knows the roads out our way, and could vouch they're pretty rough. I have rear...

Tomcat says he'ed prefer a smaller rear tyre. I'd go for a narrower rear tire too, but running a car tire now and very happy with it. Always wondered if an R3T rim would fit an R3std, anyone know? It would handle better and the tires are about half the price of the 240 (but not the car...

    Ignition Replaced Now Bad Miss

I would have gone for the low tension lead also as a start but this looks to have been ruled out. I have had a friend who had terrible trouble with a Ducati about an hour after he bought it and we headed doff on a rally (have mentioned this before but it may be worth a look). His bike missed...

What do you think?....Hand wind deflectors

That's nice piece of work there, makes me wish I had a factory windscreen so I could make those, they look like a "factory fitted" accessory. Well done

    Sounds sloppy

Ahh, I was wondering:) yes at lo speeds I get sometimes get clunking, but only if at very low speeds and dragging the clutch a lot, heavy traffic issues. Find a few more revs helps.

    Sounds sloppy

OK On a more helpful note where can you here the sound coming from on the bike? is the engine modded (triple K&N's) or similar? could be the chirping crickets? If its coming from the back, I know when I'm crawling through traffic, on and off the clutch, I sometimes get a bit of knocking from...
