    front crash bars

They are mostly called "dresser bars" (especially by the bike manufacturers) as calling them "crash bars" has negative connotations, its marketing. I do like the people in the link above calling them what people actually buy them for, in fact if buying a pair now I would probably buy those ones...

How could someone not see me?

Oww hope your OK there, maybe the disability sticker was because he was blind? There's been a lot of discussion over here re how car drivers dont see motorcycles and it stems from the "sorry I didn't see you" line. Of course they didn't or they wouldn't have crashed into you...hopefully...and...

Bull, I've always wanted to powder coat my wheels black as its a pain in the ass cleaning them, Black you can ignore the dirt for longer. We have a company here call HPC (High Performance Coatings) they are going to do a header and exhaust for me next week but can coat anything, may be...

    Driveshaft Spline Lube

While dropping my wheel off to get a new tyre rolled on this morning, I asked the shop where they get their molycote. They said "right next door". Lo and behold there's an old, old engineering supply shop with dirty old floors and a good old geezer running it. I ask, he goes to the clearance...

Removing the glass over the tach face

Pretty sure the R3 ones are glued on. I had a moron moment:banghead: with my old 79 Bonneville. It got a lot of dust on the inside of the speedo face (teach me to go racing up and down dirt roads to often). I tried flushing the dust out with solvent and managed to melt most of the gears...

    Driveshaft Spline Lube

This subject may have been done to death elsewhere so please excuse me if it has. So as I am changing my rear tire at mo, I decided it was time to lube the Driveshaft Splines after seeing this post come up. Took the wheel off and then dropped the LH shock and unbolted the dif. I can easily...

    Rice grinder?

A friend in the States (LA) has an old 70 Sportster, I'm not a fan of Harleys but this things really cool. Pretty much stock and has "Sportster" written in swirly 70's writing on the tank. A comment he made to me was that he gets sick of guys on modern harleys pulling up next to him and...

Bound to happen sooner or later...

Agreed, I remember seeing the an interview with the head of the road police over here on tele one nigh a few years ago, they are not supposed to "hide" but be in plain view as a deterrent. The TV station had managed to film a policeman hiding in the bushes with his radar gun. When it was...

    passenger holding on

Agreed sadly its quite often its the pillion that gets their beans when you crash. I once rode down one of the back roads to our house with the wife on the back, riding "like normal" when we got home and she got her helmet off and I got such a telling off, I could also see she was genuinely...
