    That's also what I've found - our R3's are quicker to the 1/8 mile but after that the big sport bikes eat our lunch. My mirrors are unusuable over 60 mph due to vibration but I don't find it otherwise annoying.

    Let me clarify here. I had 2300 miles on my R3 prior to replacing the Metzeler with the Avon Cobra. It now has about 5200 but it still has a lot of tread left.     With 7500 miles now I am totally pleased with the performance of my Avon Cobra rear and original Metzeler front combination. Let me add that I am a very agressive rider.

    Numbers I've seen published for the R3 say it weighs 750 lbs. The M109 weighs 650. I was thinking the R3 is 800 lbs. (it is, wet) So, in any case, the 109 is at least 100 lbs. lighter. Suzuki uses a lot of aluminum. The entire swingarm is alloy. If you check my post you'll see I didn't say it...
