    Hello R3 riders

Hi Clyde, welcome to the forum from a fellow Clevelander.

    Extra Battery

I did the same on my 2015 Roadster using an Odyssey PC545 with heavy (unlabeled but about 6 gauge) lawn tractor cables. The battery sits on a foam cushion. I extended the stock 12 gauge battery charging wire to the Odyssey's positive terminal. This ensures both batteries receive the same...

    Ran out of gas!

My Roadster has 2.0 US gallons left when the yellow light comes on. It has 1.0 US gallon left when the miles to empty reads Zero. It's very consistent and I can rely on it. I carry a quart of gas for peace of mind, there's no way I can push it uphill...

    Purchase advice request

Hi frkmbolin, I am about to sell my 2015 RIII Roadster, bought new that year. Matte Black, white stripes. Hard bags (Caribou Storm 35L) on Hepco & Becker frames. Set up for a tall rider: custom tall heated Russell Day-Long saddle, adjustable/removable driver backrest, forward controls...

    Oil tank draining

Thanks @warp9.9 for posting pictures and explaining what to clean and check. My Roadster has 37k miles with the original drain plug O-ring. Before the last oil change I noticed the oil level was dropping about 1 inch overnight. At the last oil change (2k miles ago) I noticed the O-ring wasn't...

    Best Tire Size for Handling

I haven't read of any ABS problems with the rear Exedra Max combined with the Michelin Road 5 150/70 front, or any brand of 140/75 front. Rocket Captains using a 130/80 front DID HAVE issues.

    Hoping for a better fit

A lower seat? I'm 6-2 with long legs and I find that a higher seat is more comfortable than lower. A higher seat means less knee bend, lower knees in relation to your hips, and less pressure on the tail bone. The first pic is testing for comfort with a slab of foam on top of the stock seat...

    Sidestand Extension

ransan, the Rivco TR3-3013-2 Sidestand Pad arrived a week ago, and it is the right part for the 2015 R3R. The pad is chromed aluminum, in one piece, very nicely finished and a nice snug fit. It secures with a 1/4" x 28 tpi set screw and I used Blue Loctite. I think the chrome is way too...

    Best Tire Size for Handling

barbagris, I am also using the 150/70 Michelin Road 5 on the front - a great tire that I will use again. I can confirm that fitting a 200/60 to the rear of the R3R improves handling. The 200/60 rear doesn't resist leaning over like the 240 does. The first one I tried was a Bridgestone Exedra...

    Sidestand Extension

I tried to reach NewR3.com; sometimes it refused to connect, other times it bounced me to NewBonneville.com. I couldn't find availability of the Rivco pad there, or anywhere else on the interwebs for that matter. I searched Ebay US, Ebay UK, etc looking for something that could be made to work...

    Sidestand Extension

Thanks, scot in exile. Having been filled with confidence from your experience, I just ordered what seems to be the Rivco side stand foot from the Squaredeal website's clearance page. They are listing it at 9.99 UK pounds plus 20.00 pounds shipping/handling...

    Cam cover gasket tear

I wonder if failure to increase screw torque in small steps was my problem also. The gasket "crept" in one area, apparently stretching itself and eventually splitting. It stayed put in other areas. I wonder if lightly oiling the gasket would help it find its happy place... l

    Cam cover gasket tear

Both of my valve cover gaskets have split. I blame the material. Here's a pic of the second one after cleaning the area prior to applying black silicone RTV. To the left you can see where it had split before, sealed up the same way. Ugly for sure, but a silicone scab keeps the bike on the...

Hi M.J - I'm an Essex boy, born in Orsett, grew up in Grays. I'd like to meet up but distance is a problem, having moved to Ohio!

    Tire mileage continued...

1olbull, Michelin did talk about a GT version, but I don't know if it will be produced. I haven't seen one in this size. I'm happy with the standard version on the front of my R3R...10,000 miles and nowhere near worn out. tdragger, Even though the Rocket is heavy, we're talking about a front...
