    pete.triumph

Sad, he was always up for a ride and very seldom a weekend would pass without a call or message to go on a run. Miss his company, a lot of fond memories.

100 Octane Should I use it?

In Sydney here in Aus, I use only 98. When I’m in some god forsaken place in the country areas I make a judgement call on how much I think they sell ie if water has got into the underground tank and how long it’s sat there. And I base this on being caught out in the past.

    "The Mistress No More"

Just "dropped in" to catch up with the news.. that's not good at all Hanso, Great that you are OK (if not a little sore). I know how much "the Mistress" means to you, so hopefully it's just a bit of hardware and a few ornaments. Get well little buddy!!

    Moving on

Well, after 6 yrs of ownership I made the big decision to go to a lighter bike that was a bit more hi-tech. On the rare occasion when I've owned 2 bikes, I've only ever ridden one of them (unless one needed a service), so I traded in the Rocket on a Yamaha MT10 - the one with the yellow fluro...

    Fuel filter replacement questions....

Yep, that banjo fitting needs to be really tight, and you need patience to get the pump in a roadster tank.

Rocket 3 Classic - Electrical Problems

Had the same problem, was one of the relays under the side cover - I'm not savy with electrical (neither was the first dealer I took it too) - but the second picked it up and replaced it in 2 seconds. Blinkers went, followed by headlights etc.

Gearbox Trouble with 2013 Rocket III Touring

The opposite, I haven't ridden a sportsbike, it hasn't suited my "needs". Took the Aprilia Tuono for a ride last week - no comments other than the gearbox, but the Aprilia is beyond words. Having said that, the R3 Roadster has done all that I've asked for - 5 years and 64,000 klms, ...

    BST Wheels, Considering it

Triump.Pete had them and loved them, said they made a big difference, Blastedbones on the dot com site also had them, he's a pretty big guy and had broken 2 of them - roads aren't to good in Aus. Be worth getting in touch with him.

    Lift adapter for Roadster

Ive got the big blue lift from the UK, the bracket for the R3 is the same set up as everyone has posted ie bracket with bolts to go thru the engine case holes. I've also got a front wheel stand so as the bike is upright to make it easier to get the lift under it. Makes life easy.

    Dot 4 Brake Fluid Question

Brake fluid is like coolant, one of those things you keep putting off. Next item on the list on my 2010 R with 63,000 klms is the fork oil......... one day I'll get around to doing it.

    Triumph survey 12/8/15

Same, got this survey just after I bought it in 2010 and this is the next. Haven't looked at it, but I doubt it's any more than going thru the motions. I don't think I'm off the mark by saying marketing and customer response mean little to Triumph, they'll (Bloor) will do what he wants.

That's all I can stand can't stand no more...

New mechanic sounds the way to go. It's annoying, you can pretty much get you car serviced/repaired without problems and are happy to pay for it, but with a bike it is often hit or miss. When I've finally reach a stage in life where I'd be happy to and can afford to pay for work done right, but...

Brand new Rocket 3 transmission issue

Yep, the fuel gauge has a mind of its own. If they replace the bike cause of the guage you will end up owning all of them. I "try" not to look at the low fuel light - bit hard at night, the odometer is the one to watch.
