G’daes One & All Well... Helen & I have now committed ourselves to join old mate mad Milligan & the lovely Maggie from Get Routed in our ride of a life time in 2011. 2010 is being used to prepare for this journey – Helen is talking about diets and get fit programs etc. Me = I’m telling her all...
  2. Part 1 a few pics

& a few more this one is of a 1949 Velocette LE parked on top of the fridge in a country pub - story goes it was ridden up there using a stout plank first to the bar then to the top of the fridge. the next three are favourite pieces of art - Max Mannix is the Artist & you can purchase...
  3. Part 1 a few pics

a few more pics G'daes One & All Thought I'd drop in a few more pics of the area in which I live & ride. cheerios Mick
  4. Part 1 a few pics

seat & pics G'daes CTCruiser the stock seat is good for us - no worries with 1000 kilometre days; Helen at times uses a 'airhawk' cusion, I find the riders saddle ok. Its a significant improvement over the seat on the 1981 BMW R 100Rs which is pretty much an ironing board. The one with...

Part 2 From a recent ride to Wallerman Falls. parked in the carpark after a very interesting ride up. the falls in the dry season (286 metres into a 20 metre deep pool) Just another Australian Country Pub with a brace of trumpy's out the front cheerios Mick
  6. Part 1 a few pics

G'daes One & All From a recent ride up to Hervey's Range tea House. If you've got it you might as well show it. Looking good against a nice vista. Still looking good against a not so nice backdrop (or should that read 'dropkick?). Part 2 follows .....
  7. a couple of photos

G'daes One & All I guess the scenary around one's home base is so often taken for granted ... at risk of boring the Forum a few more photos ... The first; one of the seven waterfalls within 50 miles of each other - its called the waterfall way when you ride the circuit This one is a...
  8. a couple of photos

G'daes One & All I thought I would take the liberty of posting a few pics ... Theres something about a bike and a country pub ... like a hand in a glove ... like sitting around a fire late at night with your mates after a 1000 km day and the talk is all done and the quiet together is...
  9. Why Do You Ride?

G’daes One & All The question … “why do I ride?” A simple answer … because I can. That makes me so much more fortunate than many of the lads I first rode with; many are now dead or maimed, either physically or psychologically. Perchance another way the question could be asked … “why do...
  10. a dumb question from a newbie

G'daes One & All It appears the 'problem' is to do with ther rar vision mirrors ... the (R) side is further to the front and slightly down than the (L) when using the tape measure and spirit level .... some adjustments have made it less of a problem but some further 'tweaking' is needed...
  11. a dumb question from a newbie

G'daes warp 9.9 Stock standard with the exception of a Roadmaster screen blade and QR S/Bar with Long Haul Pad & rack. Everything looks sweet - tommorow I'm going to use a spirit level on the bars & a tape measure. I just cant work it out - its either a very good illusion / delusion or...
  12. a dumb question from a newbie

G'daes One & All ,,, and my dear Scot in exile The harsh, useful things of the world, from pulling teeth to digging potatoes, are best done by men who are as starkly sober as so many convicts in the death-house, but the lovely and useless things, the charming and exhilarating things, are best...
  13. a dumb question from a newbie

No doubt HeR3tic with advice like that I presume you worked at GM ... most likely in customer relations, or quality assurance, but most likely in senior management ! :p:p:p
  14. a dumb question from a newbie

G'daes One & All This may well be a dumb question - and I'm not sure how to describe it. When I'm riding the new beastie it seems to not be level, it seems a lot of the time to be right side lower - not a lot = no more than a 1/2 inch at the handlebars - and it seems easier to throw into...
  15. G'daes

G'daes One & All Have just joined the Forum. Take delivery of a new R3 Touring in the two tone blue next week. 'Bertha' (thats her name) will be a stable mate for 'Bessie' my 1981 BMW R100RS. cheerios Mick
