    I did the exact same thing, except my bars were not cranked all the way over. My crash bars saved the bike, no marks on anything. Makes the bars relatively cheap I think....

    Insurance costs

    Also, the Rocket is classified as a muscle cruiser, not a sport bike as I understand it. This would make a definite difference in insurance cost. I think the Sport bike classification is the highest for insurance costs other than older bikes that are worth a lot of money as collectables

    Not sure what you mean by original crash guard? Also remember I have changed my pegs to the mid mounted like the R.

    Question, I have 23 Rocket 3 GT. I have switched to mid peg configuration and added the shift assist. Will this stop me from being able to install the center stand? I'm thinking it will as I only see that it is for the GT, not the R. Also in Washington State

    Which is why I'm seriously considering moving there. We're leaving today from the Pacific Ocean and heading for Maine and the Atlantic Ocean. Dropping down through WV to NC to see my youngest daughter and her family. Best road to take through WV for a great ride?

    Don't have that in Washington. In at some areas we have emissions checks. Recently retired, looking to get out of the beautiful state of Wa as the tax structure is insane. WV was one of the States i am seriously considering. Hope they don't have too many pains like this one.

    I'd talk to a dealer and see if there is a difference between the GT and the R, I don't see why there would be but that doesn't mean crap.     What year is your bike? My top bolt didn't look like it was long enough either, but it ended up being perfect. Again, so long as your bottom bolts are still in you should be fine removing the top bolt. When I loosened the nut on mine the bolt was loose enough just pull out, no weight on it at all.
