Guys.
I was at RamAir yesterday and have seen the new modified baseplate for the STAGE1 (basic retrofit) filter. The mould is far more complex. It's possible I may have one next week to fit - though for space/time reasons it's more probable I'll ask them to ship it to Spain.
BUT - They are looking very seriously at a STAGE2 KIT. Aimed at modified N/A engines. Weather permiting I'll ride up next week and my bike will be used to 3D model available space. They then need to crunch numbers. But from their comments - if they can justify 50 units or so is likely to happen.
This post is my initiative - they did not ask me to do so - and it's purely altruistic.
The idea is something that WILL NEED AN INDIVIDUAL DYNO TUNE. i.e You'll need somebody like Lushie. I know they are emailing Nev to ask his opinion and thoughts, requirements etc. It would be really nice to Get Bob C's feedback too. But it seems they've not had much response so far and Wayne Tripp (as we know) is retired. I'd suggest this is the moment for all the R3 tuners out there to make their requirements known direct to RamAir. RamAir are making some very special low volume stuff for AMG/BRABUS/ASTON MARTIN - all you need to do is ASK.
IT WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY REQUIRE RADIATOR BOTTLE RELOCATION. And to this end I'm really writing this. RamAir would appreciate any photos of already relocated bottles - especially any that are relocated to the underseat filterbox. Please email to them direct. http://ramair-filters.co.uk/contact-us
Will probably come with a new claw with a bit more room, heatshields and various other stuff. Will have Bellmouths. Maybe moulded maybe spun metal.
They would also appreciate fotos of those special intakes such as Canberra's and Owl's as another idea is to use their F3 race engine filters in some form of fabricated airbox as on Formula3 race cars.
Sorry I cant be too active if you have more questions - My dad is still in hospital, though out of intensive care, and he's not pregressing as fast as maybe we'd like. He's my priority.
