Fog Light Question

I'm thinking of getting some fog lights.

Some sites quote a difference between pre VIN no 237540 and post VIN no 237541, and some make no distinction at all.

Does anyone have any experience of what the difference actually is? Is it to do with the wiring/electrical connectors? Both pre and post need the front end fixing kit, so I imagine it's nothing to do with the actual fixing of the lights, but I guess someone out there knows the truth.

Sorry, don't know the difference in the part numbers. I suggest you phone a dealer and ask. Are you talking generic ones as per your link or the triumph ones as these are the best price I've seen?

Was thinking of getting some myself but they'd be purely for decoration but then don't want to add unecessary weight and clutter up the front end, however they do look good.

It was the Triumph ones I was looking at - it's just that the later ones are double the price, so I was hoping to get away with the earlier ones. Instructions are the same

There's quite a lot to it isn't there? The ones in the link I posted are 1/2 price. Are you saying there's some even cheaper?

Some for £102 at Total Triumph with £2 postage - I could live with that if they fitted OK

When you say work ok, do you intend to use them as can't imagine they'd be very effectual. If for show, I'm sure they'll mount ok. Does your bike have a screen cos you'll need the fixing kit if not?

Yes, have had the screen fitted on the bike so the fixing kit is already there.

Have the fogs on the K16, and they're excellent. Mind you, that's not to say that would be the case with the Rocket.

Anyone have any experience of whether they help at night or not?

Had a reply from Total Triumph - only difference is that the fogs for the earlier model come with a relay, which isn't needed on the later ones.

In two minds now as I have heated grips and sat nav, and am scratching my head as to where i'd put the switchgear for the fog lights.
