Hey lads;
What earbuds are used by the majority on here?

I ride with a half helmet and I've tried a variety of in-ear with volume control earphones none of which stay put, block wind noise or even reproduce the music well.

Any suggestions lads?

I've tried a klipsch se4s, a stock set from my Samsung s4, a blackberry stock set and the newer iPhone stock set.

I normally use custom molded plugs with the ear buds build in, but for some reason the left side quit the other day so now I am back to standard ear buds or foam ear plugs

Ahhhh so how does one get the custom moulded ones done? Pick your favourite earphones and take them to an ear place?

I get mine from a guy that always shows up at sporting clay tournaments. He sets up a booth and makes them on site while you wait. I'm sure any auditory specialist can make them

Custom molded earplugs are the only way to go. Most decent bike and gun shows have someone who can make them. Earinc.com is a good source.

I have also been told that places like Dickson Sporting Goods sell the stuff to make your own custom earplugs, and if you put your favourite ear buds in, then mold the earplugs stuff around them, you will end up with a good result.

Shure SE-series. They sound awesome, to begin with - there are options up to the bonkers SE846 that cost a grand...

Thankfully the SE215 sound pretty darn good for about a hundred, that's the minimum I'd recommend.

Add the triple-flange silicone tips and they stay in and dampen noise like nothing this side of custom earmoulds. Plus, of course, you can get custom sets for them. Oh, they're made to hook over the ear so that keeps them in place even more firmly.

I use a $30 set of earbud headphones from Tandy and shove those ****ers that far in my earhole that even the vacum of space couldnt get in there, oh hang on i have been accused of having a vacum between my ears before...............

+1 on the Shure earphones. I don't know what model I've got because I've had them for over 10 years. I think they were in the middle of the model range. They come with a number of different ear rubbers (or whatever they're called) so it's not difficult to find one that fits your ear.

Are they loud enough to drown out highway noise or i guess do they block enough wind noise to make the music enjoyable?

You don't want loud, you want good noise isolation so you can keep the volume moderate and not do more hearing damage. With a triple-flange silicone tip you should cut 20-30 db off, which is basically like an earplug. Then you can pipe in music at a moderate volume.
