Which shocks would anyone recommend. After 118,000K I'm ready to replace the stockers. I,m leaning toward the Triumph comforts but like the look of the Performance Machine 430 series. I ride quite a bit two up with full load.

Actually I think Jake's passenger must be a closet masochist - I was ORDERED to change my rear shocks on first two-up outing.

Jake - What sort of weight are you and passenger? - That sort of workload I'd go for something GOOD.

Hagon Nitros, Gazi, Wilbers, Maxton, Fournales.

Fournales are air shocks. Not everybody's thing - but I love mine.

Just FYI -
I had Hagons for 20K miles and loved them.
I decided to go taller for more lean angle and because of the hand spring adjustment and automatic damping, I went with the Progressive 444s.
I haven't rode them as yet; but, have progressive on my other cruiser and loved them for over 70K miles so far.

Did not realize my "buns of steel" would be quite a sensation. Combined weight of me and the missus is around 260lb.

Ya, I think you will find that there are much better shocks available -- whatever ones you select, let us know how
they compare cause my bet is that you, and your back seat, will kick yourself for not doing it earlier. Especially
doing a lot of two up with loads -- yea well I guess that takes you off the island a lot. There are a lot of
good options. I selected Hagon Nitros about 3 years ago and am very pleased and ride two up, actually three up (little dog) and
everyone is much more comfortable and the bike handles significantly better.

Hell, Jake!
Many of us make 260 all by ourselves!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: You and misses must look like the fellow in the "Jim/Maine" avatar above!

Mittzy,
You, Mate, are a subtle Aussie to be sure. That "like" you gave me reminded me to get those Hagons in the mail.
I have found the original box and packaged them up. It is a little larger and heavier than I originally estimated so the postage may run more than $80 US.
I have been in trial for the past week and too busy for anything.
Will get on it ASAP, Amigo!

I'm very interested in this topic, I just spent the morning following a couple of mates on rice burners (suzuki B Kings) through the local hills.
My bike dives under brakes and slides like a slippery seal in the tight hard corners while I'm trying to keep up.
I've spoken to the local Triumph dealer and they suggest a T Bird preload spacer set for the front and Gazi shocks for the rear at a cost of $890 aus.
I've also looked at wilbur shocks at a cost of $1400 aus and I'm waiting on a quote for ohlins shocks through the local suspension specialists.
As usual it comes down to how much you want to spend to get the performance that matches your riding style.
