I am looking for a 2XL textile, well vented jacket, with armour and a left side gun pocket ( inside ). LeatherUp has one but Ican't tell if the description means the holster pocket is in the zip out lining or in the base jacket. One of you smart young folks tell me what it means :)

Glen I am not sure if this is the item you are looking at. This has a gun pocket in the pocket of the Leather.
Xelement 'Renegade' Mens Motorcycle Leather Jacket with Gun Pockets

I have been a leather guy my whole adult riding life (1960).
Since 1969 only custom made Langlitz Leathers.

Last year I finally tried a textile for something lighter and easier to pack.
After MUCH research I landed on the Cortech GX Sport Air 3.0 Mesh.
It's an AWESOME jacket for all seasons with three configurations - mesh for hot weather - water proof for rain - thermal for cold.

Still wear the Langlitz for day rides, but for long trips it's the Cortech.
Both can carry my Glock 26 just fine.

This one? http://www.leatherup.com/p/Textile-...ter-Gun-Pocket-Motorcycle-Jacket/6945446.html

Looks like it is separate from the lining, i.e. in the base jacket. Have you considered a shoulder rig and then you can wear whatever jacket you like. I just wear my gun on my belt like normal, I may regret it someday if I land on it during a get off, but right now it is what feels right for me and doesn't change the way I normally carry.

I found that using my Cortech tank bag provides faster access while riding and more comfort for CCW purposes.

I have been looking for another jacket also. Was gonna stick with leather. I saw your post and decided to look in to the Cortech GS Air. A couple friends have Cortechs but we never really talked about them. So I watched the videos and read the propaganda. Was going to the Chicago Motorcycle show today and tried one on. My size, my color, my first non leather, motorcycle specific jacket. And saved $50 with the show special price. Thanks 1olbull for doing the research on the jacket. Looks like a winner.

I will have a windshield bag as well. I have a shoulder holster with twin mag pouch. It gets hot here in July and August. Sweat and my .45 don't mix.

Thank YOU for the kind words and you be quite welcome!
Believe me, after I toted my Langlitz leather around the Country for six weeks of hot weather (wearing it only a few times) without any upper body protection and watching my brother casually crunch and stuff his textile jacket in and out of his bags, I WAS convinced to give it a try. I LOVE my leather, but the added protection, comfort and convenience of the textile allows me to wear it ALWAYS - hot, cold, rain or shine!
