Anyone use them on an RIII classic? My bike currently has leatherlyke bags on it and I’m not a huge fan. They’re very plastic looking and I’d like more of a leather look. I notice with the Viking bags you have to drill them to make them fit with their included hardware. I have the quick disconnect fittings for the leatherlyke and it would be cool to just drill the viking bags and use the same hardware to connect. Anyone know if this is possible or have experience with installing them?

This is the hardware Viking uses for their quick release system.

Ah okay. That’s not what they give you for “free” then. That system looks like a pain in the ass from what I saw. This one looks like it works the similar to what I have now.
Any idea if any of the kits they have listed will work with a classic?

My Viking bags using the Triumph OEM saddlebag mounts.

That add states these are Ghost Brackets but that's wrong, they are Easy Brackets which I prefer. That is one excellent price too.
Same thing. Just different name they even have the same locking mechanism.

With viking bags they are universal. You drill holes in the bags to the location you need. I was disappointed when what I thought was a bike specific set of bags wasn't that at all. Also I replaced ALL mounting screws because they were just not the right size to fit the OEM holes.

I agree they perform the same function and lock in the same fashion but Easy Brackets are made specific for each bike (fender mount location specific) while Ghost or Edge Brackets have some adjustability to them. Maybe the fender mount lugs are the same. They do look different.

Those are exactly what I was sent from viking bags. I had to drill out the receivers to fit the Triumph fender bolts. As I said viking sold them to me as bike specific and that was not the case at all. I complained to viking about the hardware and they sent me a bag of the exact same hardware.

The bags themselves seemed good to me. The mounting hardware required some work and borrowing of screws from the bike.

Eventually the quick release broke on me too and I never bothered to replace it. The paint flaked off, metal rusted, eventually just broke.

Affordable prices though.
