I noticed that I had a valve stem seal leaking a bit so thought that it was a good idea to replace them all while I have the cylinder head off. I'm sure that someone makes a valve spring compressor for motorcycle engines but all I have is an old school automotive one that wasn't able to reach down into the bucket bore to compress the spring. I thought about it for a bit and came up with something that worked so well I thought I would share. I took about 2" of 3/4" copper tubing and made slit approx 3/8" wide and about an inch long. It's non magnetic so I thought perfect for getting collets out but in actual use it turns out that the collets just fall out and land inside of the copper tube. The big compressor just plays with these tiny springs, had I them all out in minutes.
