As per Penner, there is no need to reset the adaptations. I did mine without reset adaptation and the bike runs great.
On the old Rocket at least, reset adapt brought it to factory values. It adapts by itself with riding.
 
On my roadster, I used to reset adaptations too. Not recommended on the new one.
The problem with resetting them on the new Rockets, aside from needing a decent ride to recalibrate, is that it resets the crank position sensor as well, throwing an engine code that won’t go away unless you reset it. It’s fixable with TuneECU, but save the hassle and just don’t reset adaptions. FWIW I’ve documented the process to fix it here and it’s now in the TuneECU wiki as well…
