Hello folks, on the Ural forum I also frequent, one of the members had a horrific crash after leaving a Ural meet up in Ohio at the end of July. He lost control on the bike and crossed the center line head on into a small SUV. Unfortunately, his 10 year old son Joey did not make it.

I have a fondness for all things motorcycle and always hurt when I hear of one us passing, but a child really hit me harder.

Here is the news article about it:
Illinois 10-year-old dies in Preble County wreck

The dad, Dan has been escorted back to their home town by a group of Ural Riders but has a long row to hoe in his own recovery. I will include the gofundme if any of you wish to help out and it has updates on Dan.
Here is a picture of Dan, Diane and Joey taken a few days before the crash. Diane was not on the bike when the collision happened.

Oh how terrible. To all those who believe in the higher authority, please pray for that family.

Hearing about a passing of any rider is indeed sad. A child passing is terrible news. Thoughts and wishes to all affected

Sad story indeed, and as most crashes involving motorcycles it was in a curve do not know the details but having a sidecar makes it that wee bit harder, just shows you you do not have to be riding fast for these accidents to happen, thoughts go out to the family and please guys ride safe.

Soo sorry to hear that, like the others say, the passing of a child hits harder even if you didn't know him, RIP:(

First off I feel for them very sad news. Second off really imfasttoo? To bad if you do not like Urals. I do not believe the post has anything to do with how you rate a Ural. It is a tragic event that brings attention to the fact that every time we get on a bike something like this can happen.

This is the worse kind of news to hear with a child involved. I am actively looking into getting a sidecar for my Bonnie to take my boys out in. This is horrible for the family.
