Touring rear passenger foot board alternative

Hi Guys - do you know if there is a conventional foot peg (or smaller foorboard) available for the touring? Being a bit vertically challenge I find the stock one digs into my calf making it difficult to stabilise the bike.
 
The problem for me is that the bike is so top heavy with my missus on the pillion that I really need to be able to move my legs around and for me there just isn't enough room - I may try making up a bar that will allow me to move the board rearward an inch or two - the staggered height seat really makes the bike unstable unfortunately - it's gonna take me a lot of practice, I already dropped it (luckily just a bruise on the exhaust)
 
I'll have to look at how the floorboards are mounted on my R3T and see if pegs can be put there...

They're mounted with two rather substantial bolts. Mine are currently sitting in a box. I'd guess the only way you'd get a set of pegs to fit would be to fabricate a mount of some sort.
