Timing cam with no mark on drive gear

Should be two holes. Do you have the timing tool. Have you taken the valve cover off yet. Have you taken the plug out of the front of the motor. Do you have a manual to look at. You have to have the timing tool to check the timing.
 
Need to time my cams and there's no mark on the cam drive gear.

If your talking the crank gear the crank shaft and the block has the marks to bring number 1 cylinder TDC. Below is a couple pictures that might help. First in tbe block there are to marks

The crank shaft has two punch marks/dots on the large drive gear simulated below

Now the nect picture below shows how they line up. You can see thru the inspection plug in tbw front clutch cover. Or with the cover completely off.

Once these marks are lined up #1cylinder is top dead center. You will need to make sure its the compression stroke if the cams are still in and you are checking with the timing fixture . After TDC is when you check the cam timing with the fixture.

it was marked with a blue paint dot way up there too.
