Hey guys, I'm new to the R3, actually just bought it today. On my ride home (which was about 20 miles) I realized that the bike was getting pretty hot. Now I know that ALL bikes get hot pretty quick but I was wondering if the R3 usually warms up that fast? Is it supposed to be getting that hot?

The bike does get pretty dang warm, if you want to confirm your fan is coming on go start it and let the bike idle for a few minutes, you should hear the fan kick on.

The fan def. turns on. I was just wondering if it is normal for it to get hot so quick since it has such a big engine

If i were you i would concentrate more on hanging on
Rocket does get hot, don't worry about it unless you get a warning on the "dash"

You won't notice it once you're on the move - the fan coming on is Rocket's way of letting you know that you're not going fast enough

Yes you get a lot of heat. Especially on the right side. Rockets are pretty lean from the factory. Since I installed my Dobeck Performance AFR Plus, that heat is gone.

Mine definitely gets warm, but it's never been unbearable as long as I'm on the move.
Didn't think the heat was too bad til I installed the windscreen.

Try putting Rebands on with No heat protection, now that's ***n hot...

If / when I install rebands or carpenter, I'd have to fork out the money to have them sent here first.
