Stared on 2 cylinders

Yesterday when I fired the bike up ,it ran on 2 cyl for about 30 seconds until I revved it to 2500 and the other cyl cut in and ran normal.
Air was thick with a fuel smell ,so I assume the non firing cyl was getting fuel ,but no spark.
Rode it around all day and again last night and it seemed ok.
Ive got new Iridium plugs in that have done about 6000 and everything else seems in order.
Any ideas what would cause it??

I would check the coil connections, and crimp the plug ins a little more to ensure they are tight on the coils.

Also check that the low voltage wires on the coil are clean and tight.
