Hello, can the Triumph sport tail pack be mounted on optional luggage rack? I know it's meant to go on the pillion secured to the leather strap but I'm wondering if anyone has found a good way to secure it to the optional luggage rack.

Thanks!

what are the dimensions? cant find it. most likely about 12" depth. the luggage rack is only 7"... I had another sport tail pack I wanted to mount there, but because the bottom is not hard, it will bend. a solution could be use a larger rack in that place (you still need to get the optional luggage rack first), like the one that sells lamonster, other will be to add a harder bottom to the tail bag, under it to effectively extend the rack and be able to secure it without bending the bag... also be careful with the weight limitations.
I went with an smaller cylindrical softbag in that place

I have some more pictures/details in this thread: So... what tail bag fits in the "Luggage rack"?

Yes, I did it. I put the tail bag on my luggage rack. I used zip ties from the D-brackets to the back rest and then I pulled the strap under the rack and tied it in place. Works fine. Looks fine and I keep my rear seat open for a passenger or to stretch my legs!!

UPDATED in a later post - Got rid of the Triumph bag and installed a Nelson Rigg bad instead. Much better fit and function.

I'm pretty happy with the setup I have now (with the original luggage rack) but if I find that I need bigger, I now know where to look for one! Thanks.

Similar take on the above - I used one of the original carry straps (never did see the point of those on such a small bag) and tuck it through the gap under the rack (this is important to prevent the bag slipping backwards). Wrap it around the bag's 'shoe' using the strap pad for non-slippyness and then to the front and underneath, finally clipping onto the oem strap. A couple of cable ties around the front D rings to the backrest uprights and that is really neat, strong & secure .

There's another thread about it here...

If I were to do it again I'd get a Givi tank bag with a quick release ring and mount it instead.
