How many were made, to begin with????? market research would have come up with a number and it is great they sold out but you cannot just produce bikes in the hope that they will sell.
Maybe they're going to sit back and gaze in wide wonder at their sales. Then do some fine tuning and surprise us with a real touring model addition to the family.
The story I was told that a fixed amount was produced for the year and they are sold. The dealer can not get any more. A few of the Rs are still available. It looks like Triumph might have underestimated the demand. This may help the bikes hold values.
Can they? Will they? The model year is more than half over and the 2021 models should be coming out in the late fall. Strategically it might be best for them to leave the customers wanting.
The trick to creating demand and keeping dealer prices up - is NOT making too many.
If your dealer had one or two sat there - then you may "think about it a bit".
As for making more - COVID has probably had a bit of an impact.
