A strange thing indeed. My side stand switch has been occasionally playing up, so I have decided to by pass it. You can't take the old switch off without cutting the cable which isn't really a problem as it is defective anyway. Also, you have to take the side stand itself off and the rubber stop bracket.
The confusing thing is that there are two wires going in to the plug from the bike, and three going down to the switch. the middle wire must be redundant as there is nothing on the other side of the pin.
Anyone shed any light as to the mysterious third wire or is it just that is a common switch used also for other models which have the third wire.
