I'm thinking about putting a sidecar on my '12 Rocket, I have to bring my grandkids (10 & 6) to school and summer camp every day for my daughter and it would be a great way to get to use my bike more and I think they would love it. Anyone out there have a sidecar, how do they handle, how do you like or dislike it. Any input would be great.
Thanks

Grampy

Hi Grampy, I set up a few side cars many years ago but have never owned one myself, it's quite an art and not quite as straight forward as one might think but with plenty of adjustment built into the unit you will be able to dial it in for good/correct handling.
When you are long gone, your Grand kids won't know what your job was, or what sort of car you drove, but they will never forget that Grampy had a BIG motorcycle and would take us for rides on it :)

Have a look here, lots of variations on Rockets https://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=...0....0...1ac.1.64.img..11.12.1811.UbCo6C6qy4I

Someone just posted up a photo himself riding a sweet R3/sidecar rig over on the R3riders.net site, Jeff. I believe that he was an Aussie because his passenger was an Australian Cattle Dog sporting goggles.

If you introduce yourself to that site and ask the folks there to direct you to the post, I'm sure that you will get some good info.

I think that depends on whose rig you use, Jeff and whether or not you want a quick & easy disconnect system. they are out there.

This might get you started on your quest: http://www.dmcsidecars.com/sidecars/

Their mount kit for a Rocket III is listed there for $775. This will not be inexpensive!;-)
