Ride
2012 Rocket Roadster
As discussed in a earlier post I have had a battle with Mental health issues
And got Great support from family,Friends and many great people on here.

We went on a trip to the great ocean road but we could only get to Canberra

It was a great trip and helped tremendously with my Heath

I now want to do a ride around Australia and hence I have a Problem

either to upgrade the Rocket or replace it with a latter touring bike

We test rode a Indian Roadmaster on the weekend and liked it very much but it had some pros and cons but the big question is it would be approximately $30k to change over and I cannot see it being worth it

The better option I think is upgrade our 2012 Roadster

Made a short list of mods below

Front suspension upgrade springs and valves

Rear suspension ?

Cruise control

Hard luggage shad. Make brackets to fit

Air filter change to bear claw

Passenger floor boards fit more rigid ones

Custom seat

Back rest with phone holder, charger outlet, pocket, bungee

Cooler

Keyless ignition

Move ignition switch

Exhaust

Arm rest for rear seat

Tuning

Hydration

Fit iPhone under front sheild

Handle bars move up and back. “Maybe T-bars”

Led indicators

Led head lights

what do you all think?

If I had to buy one bike to tour in it would be the RM. I have one and it is a great machine. It looks like you are trying to make the Rocket into something that it is not. The money you spend will never be seen on a trade or sell. Be sure you are committed to that bike before you do that much work for it.

PS the RM has sat nav and a stereo.:p

If you are happy with the rocket as a bike then make it yours...
I added heaps of stuff to my 2016 Roadster to make it fit my desires...you wont recoup the money you spend so hear that..
It will make you happy tho...when your'e scooting along with a big smile will you be thinking of the Indian?..or,...if your'e on the Indian will you be missing the Roadster?
Take your time in your decision brutha...walk and think...
All the best...

I agree Ive tested the RM and its not my kind of bike my Rockets do a great job for my type of riding and the RM cant compete I did replace the rear shocks as I weigh 170 LBS that improved the ride on both bikes

Well mate you could of called in while you were here and gone home with a Roadster kitted out for touring. ;):D

Can still do a lot of it but my last set of new Standard footboards/rails and foot lever controls I was keeping for the Toad has just been sold to someone with a trike conversion.
FOOTBOARDS A9758085 Includes Rocker Gear Lever.

I shall send post a list of what options I have for your list later this week.
