I was in the bike going through the primary and secondary TPS setups and took the KNs off in order to ensure the butterflies were shut, when I found an oily residue on them. Any ideas what it might be? I have checked the crankcase filter is in place. Could it be the oil from the KNs (I havent oiled them recently == years). The bike is a 2005 with triple KNs and Preds.

if K&N's have even slight oil on them and TONS of air sucking through them, they will spray a micro-fine spray on everything.

My Rocket sucks those K&N's absolutely dry of oil; it seems. The filter element goes from pink; to white and then to a grimey gray on the forward surfaces. Got to keep up on keeping them clean.
