They come with the factory plug for use without the backrest fitted and are the most comfortable stock Dual seat for the Roadster. Occasionally the backrests design (shared with the R3Touring and Thunderbird LT ) come up at silly prices but a few of us have made our own of various designs.

An Aussie here made up a set of drawings posted in a thread here and had a couple made at a machine shop from raw block aluminum a couple of years ago.

These seats do not have the gel pad.:thumbsup:

That version is similar but with a shiny 'rubber' feel vinyl covering which surprisingly is known as one of the most uncomfortable R3 dual seats by many captains. Sort of 'pudgy' looking too!

I currently have the A9701163/4 seat. I am looking for the A970186.

Yep, the kit number with the rear mount is A9708164 which is what appears on the wrapping label with "DUAL SEAT, L/HAUL TOURING". The seat base itself has a SDM sticker with A9700186 and that is also molded into the seat base under the Triumph logo on LHS Front. There is a part number for the plug T2305059 and bracket mount T2301985 as well but not in the Fowlers listing which just lists the kit number. I have posted these before.

...useful for those investigating the option of factory Triumph rider backrests and 'Dual seat, Longhaul Touring' for Std, Classic and Roadster models. NOTE: This is not the later R3Touring model version.

The Dual seat is available with Seat, Dual, Backrest Kit A9708164;
or without Dual Seat Kit, Classic A9708059 the square post hole for the out of production and out of stock rider backrest that was always sold separately (A9708158).
As stated by CanberraR3 earlier:
"There are 2 numbers under the dual seat without backrest - A9701163 and A9701164. And on the one with backrest it's A9700186."

The part number for the whole backrest version kit that includes the seat, rear mounting bracket and plug, but without the rider's backrest itself is A9708164.

The rear mounting bracket that is not essential is T2301985, it usually comes with the seat kits but is separate to the seat itself.
