Besides having Glaucoma I have now been diagnosed with "Macular Degeneration".. I've been having problems focusing with my right eye for a few weeks, and it's a bit of a bombshell being told it can be slowed down with surgery, but not cured; gradually the sight will diminish.
What I need my friends out there to advise me on .. is this--- are there any very wide mirrors available that will fit the Rocket,-- not worried about cosmetics, the purpose is to help me,especially with "life-saver" glance backs, as we over here diving on the left really need good vision on our overtaking side.(R)
I've got no intention of giving up riding and I've been ok'd for driving---lots of one eyed people out there manage,----in fact lots on the road, drive like they're blind any-ways..
Com'on kindred spirits, what can you suggest fer an' ol' one eyed biker..??..;)----

JM2C ...My vission isn't that great these days either. . I personally like the ovals. There are universal adaptors out there for most mirrors to be fitted to the Rocket. Harley has some pretty big ones that cover a lot of area.I have a set on my RK. Being 6'2" i don't mind the tennis rackets the way they stick up it works out pretty well for me. Ride Safe.. :cool:http://www.newr3.com/html/mirror_adapter_kit.html

After replacing my mirrors for something smaller last year, I realized I couldn't see around myself, especially when wearing a jacket. So I recently got these bar end mirrors on EBay http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5335943355&icep_item=201086639282

I only got to ride with them a couple of days before coming back to work, but I can see much more behind me and they are rock solid to 130 mph. (on a closed course with a professional rider, don't try this on public highways or in your driveway)

Sorry to hear about the eye problems. My dad went through that because of diabetes, he didn't take care of his blood sugar or blood pressure and it advanced quickly. Please take care of yourself.

Just got these today. I can measure if you are interested. They are kuryakyn. Just did a test ride and they are very stable at speed and a little wider than the stock mickey mouse ears.

I have the Triumph oval mirrors too. Very good mirrors. They are so good I think they should be standard equipment.

I bought the oval mirrors for my 2013 Rocket but shipped them back. I loved the style, but they were smaller and had less visibility than the teardrop mirrors I had the dealer swap from a 2014 Rocket. The round mirrors that were originally on my 2013 were totally inadequate in my opinion. I like the size of the new mirrors they are using on the 2014's. Just my take on the ovals.
