R3T Chrome Bling project by Ishrub

Damm, That is a very tall windshield......Is that really a Triumph shield?
Yep, that is their strangely named Special Edition 'Roadster' screen A2307498
larger than standard R3T 'Summer' screen T2307490.
Marketed with Special Edition Only was released with VIN up to 541308.
Sold as either just the blade A9708113 that will replace the 'Summer' screen with a lot of reassembly), I have seen them solo or with the usual complete QD mounts for easy swap overs.
I have another complete brand new one in the shed with the chromed QD mount hardware if anyone in colder climates is keen. I bought one from UK and another from NZ and got good shipping both times. Approx AU$150 (US$105) to ship to USA etc from here.

OK

My R3T repairable write-off I bought on eBay a 100 miles away sight unseen a few years ago at Mossvale in NSW is finally registered and back here with me. I have been sorting through my Bling store for every little dazzler I could find and more on the way.

I'm so slow and often have to refit everything twice to get it right or make a little bracket etc. So if I get one or two things done a day I'm happy.

The best thing is that pulling bits off and adding others allows you to really get familiar with your Rocket. The R3T is quite different to my Roadsters and I saw recently a review suggesting that only 3 parts were shared, the engine, rear tail light and front brake calipers.

T2049235 Black extra length risers (This is a Speedmaster Thunderbird Storm part) and fits with change to Rocket III Classic bars, no cable adjustment required. I just undid hand control mounts removed LHS rubber grip and slid old R3T bars out and slid new Classic ones in after swapping out the old short stock 1" risers. The use of the A9638024 Chrome metal billet handlebar clamp made alignment a breeze. Much easier than I though it would be!

CORRECTION - THE CLUTCH CABLE IS TOO TIGHT AND NEEDS TO BE RE-ROUTED BEHIND THE TRIPLE TREE!

These are available in a Chrome version too but I had these Black ones in the shed.

My custom made metal lined leather topbox I bought years ago from the maker who had it on his won Roadster.
I've since blinged it of course but I have removed the two extra fuel tanks I had fitted to it once in a previous flight of fancy!
The laser cut UK made RIII Owners Club badges I found somewhere just filled the previous holes perfectly and help the unlined lid stay in shape. ;)

The stock plastic chrome tank badges that came with it were bubbling from chemical exposure so I de-badged and removed them.
I had some new stock Triumph R3T plastic chrome stick-on ones in the shed but prefer the look and feel of real metal Bonneville ones which appear to match the tank curve fine.
I'll leave it de-badged for now but will look into it.
This is not the actual placement I just whacked the old one back on randomly to hold the metal one up for photo.
The metal one comes with a rubber base mount that should glue to the tank OK and hopefully 3M hook and loop will hold the metal badge to the rubber with glued in chrome mushroom headed screw heads to fill hole

I will have to see if 3M extrA STRONG HOOK AND LOOP WILL HOLD THE METAL WEIGHT. And find some short or cutdown chrome screws to fill the holes.

My old 'Flying W' cutdown Wolseley 4/44 hubcap by the British Motor Corporation in 1953-56. Seems to fit under the Triumph chrome plate holder after making a couple of brackets.
P1060254.JPG

I'll have to see if I can find my old Wolseley radiator mascot I had mounted on my 1st Roadster.'s front fender. The base is curved and fits the fender great.

My chrome rocket is too big for the fender I think. 🤔 :(

A few more bits of chrome bling added (which my camera flash hates) to pannier case lids and sidecovers. I also concho-ed and badged up my leather top case and Devilled up my screen bag with a 1950's m/cycle fender mascot of the Devil thumbing his nose.

Still to do:
Fit:
Progressive fork springs and Race Tech emulators. .....I will leave to the Suspension Smith expert in Canberra
Pannier rails
Oxford heated grips
Garmin Zumo 595
Front crash bars
Chromeline H'way pegs
Progressive 440 rear shocks
Fog lamps
TORS and cross pipe

Got the Oxford Hot Grips fitted tonight. Very easy and as I got them used in perfect nick for just Au$50 they already had the Rocket III cable throttle inset fitted.

Then I fitted the Mustang studded 2 part seat to check it out.

And the first performance item.....I'm gonna RIP UP THE STREETS NOW WITH A REAL K&N insert filter I found in the shed....... Whoopee! ;)

Hey guy I have a stainless steel kitchen sink that can be polished up for the back lol
Got a photo and a postage quote? ;)
But you'd have to get it chromed first of course. ;)

With all my low down torque it will fit in the trailer. 🤔
Thanks for reminding me....I forgot about the three different Rocket III towbars I have are down there in the garage to check which one fits.
Stacked to the right with the carton of TORs against the old man's chook poo pellets
