No they ARE different. Cheap option that can still look good. cut out a big section from a car/ truck tube from a tire shop bin and take the guard off and reeally clean up the inside. Then use contact shoe sole type cement inside the guard rear. Trim for a a good 2-3 of inches from the edge, that will hold without screws and handle any obstacles encountered. Best to cut the desired shape and how long AFTER you have attached it to the guard and it has set. That allows for a short haircut failure or wonky aligning. If it lacks body and flaps or deflects too much just glue a 2nd layer inside the first and trim to match. Laminated rubber glued together is quite strong, but not as chuncky or cluncky as Truck or trailer mudflap type materials.
If you want a more finished or textured look use a cheap rubber car floor mat design you like and cut the appropriate section.
