I have been fortunate to have had my R3T dynoed by Wayne using Tune Ecu. The difference was night and day afterwards, no more decel popping and nice power. I have been hitting the mountains A LOT this year and am noticing as I get to higher altitudes I am experiencing a bit of decel popping and some power variances in the mid range throttle. I was passing in 4th gear, cranked the throttle but then felt a surge of power as I was letting off the throttle.

Anyway my question is will the autotune adjust the settings on the fly as you gain altitude and then descend back again or do you have to tell it when to make the changes.

it will adjust that's why they call it Auto Tune, it is constantly monitering the exhaust gases and makin changes to suit the only thing you need to do is tell the Auto what AFR's you want it to target if you send me a copy of the TuneECU tune that wayne put in your bike I will see if I can't make one up like I did for the other models cos the AFR table map I made didn't work so well in another members Touring, it would be nice to see if I could not make a AFR table up for the touring my email is hans_ann@bigpond.net.au

My rocket is still mechanically stock. I live near the Rockies and nearly all my riding is done at 5000 ft and higher. My R3 does the same thing, a power surge as let off of full throttle.
My next mod will be the PCV with auto tune. I'll need it anyhow once I get the Jardines and triple filters.
I have gotten Tunecu and opened up secondaries 100% in all gears and also copied the timing map for 4th and 5th gears to the lower gears as well.

If yours is a R3T let me know if you need a tune once you've done your mods. Your gonna be surprised how much more power you'll have.

dtgiese shared his tune with me and I could not believe the difference in the bike. !

Also used Hans's fuel table as a starting point. Auto Tune is doing a lot of trimming mid range and adding some fuel in the higher range... I also bumped up the 0% throttle position which seems to have done away with the occasional "cough" I was getting through the injectors if I blipped the throttle.... Happy camper now. Now I need me a set of those balls to hang off the rear fender of this touring bike, cause it sure does have some now!! LOL....

Please help me. Mine does the same coming off full throttle. Also coughs and backfires through the intake when bliping the throttle. I can deal with it on downshifts, but when taking off from a stop and turning a little, it coughs and causes me to almost or actully drop the bike. I wouldn't know what to do with a powerfull bike.
Thanks, Ken

Its a 2010 Rocket Touring with TORS. The mechanic at Triumph put some kinda tune in and I'm sure it was factory OK'd. Thats all I've done. Should I do the tripple K&N's first?

The downshift blip backfire is a rocket quirk you have to train your self to not blip they dont need to be bliped

I was told by a Triumph dealer head mechanic not to blip the throttle. I was showing him that it would pop back through the throttle bodies. He said Triumph bikes just do not respond well to the blipping.
