Have a set of these plugs ready to install , have heard they can overheat and damage pistons is there some truth in this or is it all BS

As long as the HEAT RATING and size are CORRECT there should be no issue - The question is - Are they?

In 12mm and 10mm thread there are no real options. And they have NO resistor.

NGK spec is
DPR8EA-9 - Heat grade 8 and resistor.

If it were me - I'd NOT do it.

Where's Mr Tripp?

These are B2S supposed to be the correct ones for the Rocket3 might leave the NGKs in , if in doubt go with tried and true I guess:;)

From my previous experience and use on other bikes, I would not use anything Nology makes.
They were nothing but trouble back when they first came out and pushed themselves onto the Kawi Vulcan owners (who figured out snake oil real quick) and the Yamaha Venture riders had issues, and the list could go on.
Stick with NGK, they flat out work.
And if you have to go cheap, go Champion (if they even make a size that fits the R3).

Just my $0.02

The Nology plugs are actually Beru silverstone plugs. Not manufactured by Nology.

FWIW, NGK iridium plugs had problems with the hard iridium tips falling off when they first came out. Ruined more than a few engines. This was over 10 years ago, and is no longer an issue.
