old and new rockets
Guys, im on a trip and i found my turn signal horn and rear light are not functioning, I'm on a 2005 R3. I checked the fuse and it's ok, what other place can I look to fix this? Anyone had this issue??

Almost has to be the fuse (Fuse # 4) or I suppose it could be the Key-Switch - but unusual that circuit would go in the latter.
Check the connector plug for any sign of burning and also try moving harness to key-switch around, see if that makes it work intermittently.

I had the same problem quite a few years ago on my 2005std, turned out being a frayed wire or two in the wiring loom at the right hand side of the ign switch, I carefully sliced the cover and bingo could see the bare wires fixed them and has been good ever since.
Seems pretty likely too must point it out to @Turk with his new '05 R3 std. toy.

Hi all, turned out it was frayed wires after all and we traced it back.
thanks for all the advice gents, ended up riding without the rear light and turn signals but stuck in the middle of a pack of 4 bikes, until we found a shop that could fix them half way into a 4000 klm run. Rode what's called 'the Mae Hong Son Loop' in Thailand over 2 weeks of twists and bends, over 3800 of them!! The darkside rear tyre ran well, but a bit scary in the wet hairpins as it was a first, for me.:unsure:

that looks like 1 heckuva a cool trip!
post some pics when you can.
i'm guessing you were riding the largest bike in the bunch.
having the rocket flanked by other bikes must've looked like fighter escorts for a bomber.......

Ah yes, Bangcock 1968 what a time. Spent $1000 in 5 days! Off topic I know.... sorry......
And YES, I had the same exact thing on my 05. Wiggled the harness that comes from the left handlebar switch assembly, and everything came back on. Raised tank, found that connector, unplugged, sprayed with wd-40, put back together, and so far, no more problems with horn, turn sig, brake light.
